Listing Guidelines
In order to maintain a trusted marketplace, comply with trademark laws and avoid your listing from being removed from Cubesnack, we suggest that all sellers follow these listing guidelines.
-
Create your own content in your listings
Create authentic content and write your own text for your listings, and take your own photos. Don't use text or images from manufacturer websites, third-party product catalogs, or other authentic sources without specific permission from the owner of the content.
-
List accurate statements
Make sure that all statements and claims in your listing are accurate, authentic and complete. Rights owners may object to listings that contain false, inaccurate, or misleading claims about their brands or products.
-
Use brand names appropriately
If you're selling a brand-name product, you can mention the brand name in your listing and include photos that you've taken of the item you're selling. However, don't suggest that you're an authorized dealer/reseller if you're not. If reported, you may be asked to provide valid proof.
Item detail page rules
Shoppers will first learn about your offers on a item detail page. The policies below ensure each item detail page covers a single unique item. This helps give customers a clear and consistent buying experience. Please review the guidelines below:
-
Refrain from using HTML, JavaScript, or other codes.
-
Exclude inappropriate content such as obscene or offensive materials, links or contact information, plot spoilers, reviews or requests for reviews, and advertising.
-
Accurately categorize and describe your items in clear detail.
-
Refrain from creating duplicate pages for an item that already has a detail page.
-
Create new detail pages for new items or versions.
-
Only create valid “variations” that relate to the primary item.
Policies for writing listings
-
Write a clearly understandable description that describes your item in detail.
-
Do not use repetitive keywords or phrases that will confuse the reader or create any misunderstanding.
-
Do not use any type of code language (HTML, JavaScript or similar) in your item detail pages.
-
None of the following are allowed in item detail page titles, descriptions, bullet points, or images:
-
Pornographic, obscene, or offensive content.
-
Phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, or website URLs.
-
Details of availability, price, or condition.
-
Use Capital Letters only for the beginning of each word. Do not use all Capital Letters throughout the attribute. This applies for item Title, Bullet Points and/or item Description.
-
Links to other websites for placing orders, or alternative shipping offers, such as free shipping.
-
Spoilers on Books, Music, and Video or DVD (BMVD) listings. This includes giving away plot details crucial to the suspense or surprise ending of a story.
-
Reviews, quotes, or testimonials.
-
Requests for positive customer reviews.
-
Adverts, promotional material, or watermarks on images, photos, or videos.
-
Time-sensitive information, such as dates of tours, seminars, or lectures.
-
-
Item titles must not have more than 100 characters, including spaces or special characters. This upper limit applies to all categories.
-
Use of emojis is prohibited in the item title.
-
All items must be accurately categorized.
-
Item titles, item descriptions, and bullets must be clearly written and help customers understand the item.
-
Item images must meet Cubesnack image standards, as well as any category-specific image guidelines.
-
Use of emojis may be acceptable so long as they’re not offensive or inappropriate in any way.
Policies for adding detail pages
-
You must not use item detail pages to cross-merchandise or cross-promote an item.
-
You cannot add details infringing upon the intellectual property rights of other parties or individuals.
Policies for editing detail pages
-
You may update listing pages to better or more accurately describe the item as originally listed.
-
You must not use an existing listing for a new version of an item. This includes changes in color, size, material, features, and item name. Instead, create a new item detail page for each new version. For example, you decide to sell a new version of an existing shirt but the new shirt has 6 buttons instead of 4. This item is materially different from the older version and it must be listed as a new item.
-
If you choose to rebrand an item you must do so by deleting the previous listing and creating a new listing for the newly branded item.
Cubesnack standards for item images
To ensure high standards of selling and give shoppers a better experience, Cubesnack maintains the following site item image standards:
-
All primary images must be against a pure white background if possible.
-
The image must be the cover art or a professional photograph of the item being sold. Drawings or illustrations of the item are not allowed.
-
The image must not contain additional objects that may confuse the shoppers.
-
The image must be in focus, professionally lit and photographed.
-
Books, Music, and Video/DVD images should be the front cover art. Jewel cases, promotional stickers, and cellophane are not allowed.
-
The full item and only the main must be in the frame of the cover photo.
-
The image must not contain additional text.
-
Pornographic and offensive materials are not allowed.
For other images after the cover images:
-
The image must be exactly of the item being sold.
-
Other items or objects are allowed to help demonstrate the use or scale of the item.
-
The item and props should fit in the image frame.
-
Cropped or close-up images are allowed.
-
Backgrounds and environments are allowed.
-
Text and demonstrative graphics are allowed.
-
Image size: Images should be at least 1000 pixels in either width or height. Cubesnack recommends 2560 pixels wide.
-
File format: You can upload JPEG or PNG files.
-
Color mode: Both sRGB and CMYK are accepted.
-
Design: You can’t include any text, borders, logos, mannequins or watermarks in your images.
-
Use real photos: The image must be an actual photo (or the cover art, in the case of music or books for example). Drawings, vectors and illustrations are prohibited — as well as additional inset images, graphics or text overlays.
-
Anything in the frame that’s not directly related to the item risks becoming distracting to the potential buyer. Remove these elements from your item images.
-
Use sharp, high-resolution, and well-lit item photos that look realistic. Pay special attention to how the colors look after they’re shot.
-
Pornographic or offensive messages are prohibited from Cubesnack.
